Omaha is pleased to announce that the 2012 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials and 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament have been nominated by the readers of SportsTravel magazine for the 2012 Sports Travel Award. Events are nominated by the readers of SportsTravel, the sports world’s event magazine. Criteria for nomination and voting include superior organization of and attendance at the events, a superior experience for the competitors and/or spectators at the events, and how the site or venue served to enhance the events. Final balloting is open through August 15, 2012. Winners will be announced at the TEAMS ’12 Conference & Expo, October 1-4, 2012, in Detroit.

The Mutual of Omaha Battles on Ice will feature the Omaha Lancers playing United States Hockey League opponent the Lincoln Stars at 12:30 p.m., followed by the UNO Mavericks facing off against Western Collegiate Hockey Association foe the North Dakota Fighting Sioux.

USA Baseball Raises Money for Japan Relief
